13-year-old Boy Starts Dog Transport Service, Living His Dream Job

While many 13-year-olds are focused on school and fun, Aleksander Slott from Byron Center, Michigan, is already living his dream job. This ambitious teen has turned his love for dogs into a successful business, all before starting high school.

It began when Aleksander’s mom, Amy Oostveen, asked him a question: “If you could start any business, what would it be?” Aleksander didn’t hesitate. He had been making extra money walking dogs, so he readily agreed. “just want to be with dogs.”

Seeing how excited her son was, Amy knew this wasn’t just a passing fancy. They worked together to come up with ideas and make a plan for a business that would help dog owners in their area.

Everyone knew Aleksander adored dogs. People in the neighborhood frequently spotted him walking with a bunch of happy pups. His talent for bonding with animals and his reputation for being trustworthy and kind made him a beloved choice for pet owners nearby.

With his mom’s help, Aleksander started “Paws and Play,” a service where he walks dogs, takes care of pets, and even arranges puppy playdates. His business took off fast because of his enthusiasm and love for dogs, which showed in everything he did.

“I just love spending time with dogs,” Aleksander shared with FOX 17. “They’re always happy to see you, and it’s like they know when you need a friend. I wanted to create a place where dogs can have fun, and owners can feel confident that their pets are in good hands.”

Aleksander’s business isn’t just about having fun; he’s also determined to help others. Some of the money he makes from “Paws and Play” goes to animal shelters in the area, helping more dogs find loving families.

The community has really supported this young businessman, with lots of people applauding his hard work and passion. “It’s not every day you see someone so young with such a clear vision and the drive to make it happen,” said one of Aleksander’s clients. “He’s not just walking dogs; he’s building relationships and a reputable business.”

And Aleksander’s not slowing down anytime soon. He wants to offer more services and keep supporting animal welfare. The future looks bright for this 13-year-old, just like the happy dogs he loves spending time with.
