Abandoned Cat Finds Joy in Adoption After 5 Months of Waiting
In May, Little Wanderers NYC, a group that rescues animals in New York City, got a call for help about a cat named Narnia. He’d been left alone in an apartment in Mount Vernon, New York, after his owner moved away.
“He was left behind with the trash by tenants who were in a rush to vacate. He was fed dry food by a kind Samaritan who reached out to us for help,” Little Wanderers NYC shared.
Narnia, about six years old, was shy and would hide in a corner when someone came near. Knowing this, Little Wanderers NYC wanted to find him a good temporary home with someone who knew how to take care of cats.
After going to the vet, Narnia went to his temporary home. At first, he was really shy and stayed in his carrier, not wanting to come out. But his foster mom was really nice and gave him lots of love and pets to make him feel better.
Over time, he began to feel secure and cared for. “At first he was very shy, but as he started to feel safe, he warmed up,” Little Wanderers NYC added.
One day, he chose to sleep with his foster mom in her bed. It was a big step showing he felt more sure of himself now. During the day, he relaxed on the couch, feeling happy and calm.
“Narnia has come a long way in the months he’s been with his foster mom. He went from a shy, scared male to a confident boy who is finally able to relax,” Little Wanderers NYC wrote.
He imagined himself as the only ruler of his home. His light-colored fur and medium-length hair made him look even more beautiful.
After staying in foster care for five months, Narnia waited patiently for a family to adopt him. Finally, this week, he got the fantastic news he’d been hoping for.
A caring family, touched by his story, decided to bring him into their home. Now, with confidence and happiness, Narnia understands he’s found his rightful place and deserves all the love he’s getting.
