Cat Rescued After Being Stuck in Car Engine
Sometimes, animals get into tough spots, and kind people have to step in to help them out. That’s exactly what happened to a poor cat who got stuck in a unexpected place. Even though it was a tough job, a team of rescuers worked hard to free the cat, giving her another chance at life.
In 2020, someone called the Arizona Humane Society because a Maine Coon cat was stuck in a car engine in Phoenix. The cat was really scared and crying loudly because it was in so much trouble.
The rescue team knew right away that this wasn’t going to be an easy job. The cat’s belly was stuck between two metal plates, making things even harder. They tried to calm the scared cat and let her know they were there to help. Ruthie called for more help, and one of her teammates did surgery right there to free the cat.
“I have never had a rescue more complicated, I’ve never had one more intense,” said Ruthie Jesus from the Arizona Humane Society . “I have never had a moment of fear and panic quite that strong.”
“I think after the rescue was complete and I knew the kitty was going to be safe, her life was safe, I found myself very emotional,” the woman told.
Even though they got the cat out of the engine, her problems weren’t finished. X-rays showed she had eaten a fuel injection plug and some wires from the car. Vets had to do three surgeries to take the car parts out of her stomach. It was a long and hard process for the poor cat, but she finally got better, which made her rescuers really happy.
