Cat Who Survived Loves Her Dog Sister, And They Can’t Stop Cuddling

Meet Cinder and Bridger McPurr, a sweet dog and cat pair who have a special bond as siblings at Mojo’s Hope, a rescue group in Anchorage, Alaska.
In 2015, Cinder became part of the program after a tough beginning – she was discovered in the woods with a group of puppies. Even though she was scared and not used to being around people, Cinder transformed into a caring and loving friend, especially after finding her way to Mojo’s Hope.
“She lacked socialization and was very fearful,” Shannon Basner, owner of Mojo’s Hope shared. “She learned to trust us, and what we saw from her immediately was her incredibly nurturing and compassionate nature.”
After Cinder joined Mojo’s Hope, she quickly made friends with all her fellow animals in the program, especially the cats.
“She’s [become] an extraordinary mentor for every new rescue that came into our program,” Basner said. “She’s provided them with love, care and a place of safety.”
In July 2022, Bridger McPurr, a little kitten needing help, ended up at Mojo’s Hope after being found cold and unable to move his legs. Even though he had leg problems, Bridger stayed cheerful. When Cinder, a friendly cat, met Bridger, they became instant friends. Cinder, who lives at Mojo’s Hope permanently, became a loyal buddy to Bridger.
“Cinder gets super excited when she has her kitty friends to snuggle with,” Basner said. “With Bridger, she was very cautious at first, as she knew he was very fragile.”
Bridger, who absolutely adores cuddling, became fast friends with Cinder, and they’ve stuck together ever since. Bridger softly taps Cinder’s face with his paws while purring loudly, making a heartwarming and adorable scene.
“It’s beyond precious,” Basner said. “No matter how many times we have seen this, it is truly the most beautiful and precious sight!”
While Cinder stays at Mojo’s Hope for good, Bridger is still searching for a forever family to love him. But Mojo’s Hope isn’t rushing to let go of this cute cat; they’re making sure he gets all the love and care he needs while waiting for the perfect home.
“We would love for Bridger to connect with a wonderful home,” Basner said. “However, as he waits, he will continue to be well-loved, cared for and will always be a member of our Mojo’s Hope family.”
