Grateful Orange Kitten Shows Appreciation with Sweet Kisses for Rescuers
Animals are amazing, right? They show their feelings in special ways, just like us. Today, we want to tell you about a cute orange tabby named Valentino. This little sweetheart expresses gratitude with sweet kisses, his charming way of saying thank you to all the rescuers who gave him a second chance at life.
Valentino, the orange cat, was left behind when his owners moved, struggling on the tough streets. No one knows how long he was out there, but luck was finally on his side when compassionate shelter workers from Cats of San Bernardino found him and decided to assist. He was really skinny and already neutered at that time. When they picked him up, he didn’t resist, showing just how challenging things had been for him.
“He just allowed to be picked up and he wasn’t moving. So it’s worse than I thought!” shared the rescuer.
Right away, a visit to the vet revealed Valentino had a fever, messy fur, and a nasty forehead abscess. Poor Valentino was in a really tough spot.
Later, the vet gave him antibiotics, and with some care, Valentino’s mood improved. They named him Valentino, and it seemed like he was genuinely happy that someone was finally there to help him get better.

On the first day of care, he was weak and dehydrated, requiring fluid injections to regain strength. As time passed, the shelter documented his recovery on Instagram, revealing his progress in getting stronger, gaining weight, and healing from his abscess. Everyone was just thrilled to see him doing so well.
As he improved physically, he also began to build a close connection with the shelter staff. “As soon as he started to heal, he started to form a connection with us on a different level. He became almost like a different cat.”
Every day, Valentino changed into a loving and affectionate cat. Maybe he was always that way, but it took some time for him to trust humans again.
And then, there was a surprising twist at the shelter. Once Valentino got used to everyone, he started showering kisses! Now, every time someone comes to pick him up, he expresses his love by rubbing his head, licking noses, and snuggling close.
Everyone at the shelter loves this little orange cat and enjoys spending time with him. Yet, they also hope that one day Valentino can find a loving home where he truly belongs.
Ultimately, Valentino’s recovery is truly remarkable, isn’t it? It clearly shows us that with some care and a lot of love, even a cat who’s been through a lot can bounce back. It’s always true to say that kindness and compassion have the incredible power to heal even the deepest wounds, don’t you think?
