Cat Rescued During Storm Chooses to Leave His Crate and Cuddle with Sick Dog in Her Crate

Ginger the cat was brought to Greenside Animal Hospital after a storm when he was discovered wet and in dire need of assistance in a drain. The veterinarian decided to place him in the isolation ward, which they believed would aid in his recovery and healing.

At just 8-10 weeks old, Ginger was understandably confused, shy, and cautious around people who were caring for him. However, the kind and attentive staff showered him with love and care. Gradually, Ginger started feeling more at ease around people and began expressing affection in return.

Now, the little kitten remains somewhat wary of people in general. However, when it comes to Anne, all his apprehensions fade away.

Anne was discovered by a sports club trainer, hidden in a bush on the street. She was brought to the hospital where it was revealed that she was infested with fleas and ticks, and her condition was extremely fragile. Anne required intensive treatment, and until her health improved slightly, the doctors relocated her to the isolation ward.

Typically, the animals at the hospital are kept in separate areas, but the isolation ward is reserved for special cases. Annie and Ginger’s crates were placed in two adjacent rooms. They hadn’t really had a chance to meet, but it seemed that Ginger had found a way.

One day, when the staff entered the ward to feed Ginger, they were surprised to discover that the little cat was nowhere to be found. It turned out that he had cozied up with Anne inside her crate. Vet staff members Viljoen and Greube admitted that they had underestimated Ginger’s ability to squeeze through the door and enter Annie’s crate.

The first time they saw them together was a truly heartwarming moment filled with excitement and affection. The dog reacted positively to the cat’s presence, and vice versa. Since the dog was unwell, there was no danger to the cat.

In no time, the pair formed a strong bond. Ginger spent the majority of her time inside Anne’s crate. Their evident adoration for each other indicated that they were truly meant to be together. Although the staff initially tried to separate them, they are now still happily together.

Annie is making a speedy recovery, thanks to the presence of her friend Ginger. The two of them can often be spotted cuddling, sharing meals, and playing together in their enclosure. Ginger has given Annie something to care for and divert her attention, while Annie provides him with a sense of serenity and reassurance that he had been lacking before.

The Schmidt Ocean Institute recently explored the Ningaloo Canyons on the western coast of Australia using a robotic underwater vehicle called the ROV Sebastian. Check out the amazing video of what they discovered in the deep parts of the Indian Ocean.

These Pics Are Art and the Artists Are Insects

Flying insects move so quickly that they are hard to follow, but new technology and some smart ideas have helped Spanish photographer Xavi Bou do just that. After spending 10 years focusing on birds in flight for his Ornithographies project, he turned his attention to insects.

For Entomographies, he uses high-speed video footage taken by Adrian Smith, an insect expert at North Carolina State University, to study and record how insects move. Bou then picks multiple frames and combines them into single images that show the fast movements of one or more insects through space and time.

With Smith’s help, Bou has captured the aerial tricks of wasps, the jumps of leafhoppers, and the fluttering of butterflies in amazing detail. He hopes that by doing this, he can make people more aware of the decline in important insect populations around the world.
